Children's Happi

Here are the cotton happis for children.  I rarely have garments for children, so if you've an interest in them, be quick with your email requests!  

Antique Japanese Children's Happi CH10.

Pattern: White and red on solid black ground.
Comments: This is oddly sized; seems too wide for a children's item, but the very short length along with the center ties lead me to believe that's what it is. The reinforcing white cotton in the cuffs is unusually wide and with the rest of the measurements, it would probably fit a small adult as well as a youth. It's in really nice condition with enough fading to make it attractive. Shoulder liner is old white cotton and the owner's name was embroidered in red thread at the top of the liner.

Antique Kimono Child's Happi Cotton Jacket, CH9.

Pattern: Genji wheels, pinwheels and chains on blue ground.
Comments: All around good condition; soft with a slight fade, but if there are stains they are so vague as to be unnoticeable.

Antique Kimono Child's Happi Cotton Jacket, CH8.

Pattern: Birds and ocean waves on a black cotton ground.
Comments: Fantastic happi for any child! Red kanji on the collar strips accents the red in the ocean waves as the birds hunt their dinner. The black is nicely faded for that well-loved look we all treasure!

Pattern: Pinwheels in white on the blue ground.
Comments: Adorable! It has width tucks of 1 1/4" on each side close to the sleeve seams to be let out as the child grows. There is also a tacked length fold of 1 1/4". I've shown the measurements as the garment is now; letting the tucks out will add another four inches to the shoulder measurement.

SOLD Antique Kimono Child's Happi Cotton Jacket, CH1.

Pattern: Green and white stripes in a block pattern. As you can see, my camera's lens went crazy in the full-body photos; the color and pattern are well represented in the closer shots.
