In order to keep from making too many subcategories, I will show porcelain and ceramic pieces together on the Pottery page; pottery bowls for kitchen use will be displayed on the Kitchen Items page. Please email for additional pictures or information.  I am always happy to help when I can.

SOLD Antique Pottery End of Day Swirl Vase, Terra Cotta AP109.

Comments: Once again, I have used the "End of Day" term to describe this very striking multicolor vase. Very slight sandy texture, but still smooth all over. No gloss at all, although there are remnants of what could have been brown glaze on the inside (picture top right) of the vase; a small area (second row left) is present on the outside, as though it dripped while the inside was being done. Mouth is very slightly rough, but I believe this to be original to the vase and not the result of mishandling. Quite heavy for its size, it has the feel of the very old terra cotta clay that was nearly burgundy in color, unlike the flimsy, fragile, peachy-orange terra cotta used today that breaks if you look at it sideways. The colors are burgundy, blue, peach/flesh, yellow and green. The arrangement of the color leaves you with several display options dependent upon which side you face forward, as shown by the pictures. It is unmarked and I have no idea at all who is responsible for this very desirable vase.

ABP109 $45.00
Material: Clay/Pottery
Condition: Very good
Color: Burgundy, blue, peach/flesh, yellow, green
Size:
•Depth: N/A"
•Width: 4 1/4" at widest point
•Height: 6 3/8"

SOLD Antique Pottery End of Day Swirl Vase, Clay AP108.

Comments: I use the term 'End of Day' to describe the multiple colors swirled all around the vase, including the base, which is unmarked. It has that Nemadji look, but it is not one of those "Tourist Trap" vases; I have no idea who is responsible for this one. Medium heavy, so not hollow, the color of the material itself appears to be the dominant bone color. Using a lighted wand I was able to see that the inside is that same bone color with hints of the same swirling that appears on the outside of the vase. There is green, burgundy/rose and two shades of blue used on the vase. Small areas of rubbing indicate that the probable color of the clay is reddish brown, but that might be some added 'nutmeg stain' which would mean that the clay itself may be the bone-white clay called 'Ada' clay. It is a conundrum I will leave to you to figure out. Slightly sandy-coarse surface; unglazed.

ABP108 $29.00
Material: Clay/Pottery
Condition: Very good
Color: Bone, blue, green, burgundy +nutmeg
Size:
•Depth: N/A"
•Width: 4 1/8" at widest point
•Height: 7 1/2"

Antique Pottery Wall Pocket Teapot AP107.

Comments: Unglazed on the bottom, but unmarked in any way. The colors are particular to so many different potteries that I wouldn't even hazard a guess; Hall China used them, so did Hull Art, Morton Pottery, California Pottery, etc. Could be any of them or another that I haven't considered. Any road, it's a lovely wallpocket and would be a nice addition or start to your collection. The entire surface has age crazing upon close examination; nothing that detracts from the presentation.

ABP107 $24.00
Material: Ceramic/Pottery
Condition: Very good
Color: Bone, rose, green, baby blue
Size:
•Depth: 2 1/2"
•Width: 6 1/2" spout tip to handle
•Height: 3 3/8" to top of handle

Antique Pottery Wallpocket Tea Kettle AP106.

Comments: Carmel brown glaze with green leaf and snow white 'fruit.' The leaf stands away free from the base, which is interesting in the fact that it never got broken off. Firing pin marks are clearly visible on the back of the piece, which is glazed all over. No chips or cracks. The fruit may or may not have been cold painted at one time; there is no evidence to support either conclusion, so it's open ended and you can paint the fruit if you wish.

ABP106 $14.00
Material: Ceramic/Pottery
Condition: Excellent
Color: Carmel, green, white
Size:
•Depth: 3 1/8" including fruit
•Width: 6 3/4" spout tip to handle
•Height: 6 1/4" to top of handle

SOLD Antique Pottery Rose Bowl, Niloak AP105.

Comments: Lovely matte finish in blue and rose that Niloak is so well known for. Small area inside at the base where iit appears that the color has worn away and an area of what may or may not be discoloration; it may simply be the way the glaze was applied but I have photographed it for you anyway. This shape is the one I think of as a 'melon' or 'cantaloupe' shape.

AP105 $18.00
Material: Pottery
Condition: Excellent
Color: Matte blue, rose

Size:
•Depth: N/A"
•Width: 5 3/8"
•Height: 3 3/16" approximately

SOLD Antique Pottery Flower Frog, Swan Pair, Camark? AP104.

Comments: Possibly Camark, but there is no certainty so I am pricing it simply as a wonderful figural flower frog. The shape is a pair of swans back to back. Semi-matte finish, elegant in its simplicity, the frog has 24 holes for stems. No chips or cracks; small area of shelf wear shown in photo where the color has been worn away to the deep red clay beneath. Notice too that this is glazed all the way up on the inside as well as the outside.

AP104 $75.00
Material: Pottery
Condition: Excellent
Color: Eggshell white

Size:
•Depth: 6" across the area for holding stems
•Width: 6 1/4" across the swan bodies
•Height: 7 7/8" approximately

Antique Pottery Vase Hull Art Wildflower AP103.

Comments: Hard to see in photo, but bottom reads: Hull Art W-6-7 1/2. No chips or cracks, some residue in the bottom from use. I've heard people use effervescent denture cleaner for this but am unwilling to try it myself as you can't unring a bell. This isn't seen with the vase on a shelf for display, so it may be best to simply leave it alone.

AP103 $75.00
Material: Pottery
Condition: Excellent
Color: Matte blue, pink, green, yellow

Size:
•Depth: 3"
•Width: 6" across handles
•Height: 7 3/8" approximately

Antique Pottery Vase Hull Art Wildflower AP102.

Comments: Hard to see in photo, but bottom reads: Hull Art W-5-6 1/2 and there is an incised B along the edge. No chips or cracks. Some residue in the bottom from someone using it as a vase or planter. I have not attempted to clean it because I am not sure what to use and would rather leave it alone since it is not visible in the course of normal display.

AP102 $65.00
Material: Pottery
Condition: Excellent
Color: Matte blue, pink, green, yellow

Size:
•Depth: 2 3/4"
•Width: 6" across handles
•Height: 6 1/4" approximately

Antique Pottery Flower Frog, Nude, Cowan? Camark? AP101.

Comments: I am uncertain of the maker of this frog. Camark or possibly Cowan? In any event, she is beautiful, and the only flaw is the small base chip you see in picture 3, and another smaller one just outside the range of the picture, further to the right. They are probably factory flaws, but nonetheless I wanted you to be aware of them. This one has 10 holes for flowers, and is glazed on the bottom also. It is an all-over rich goldenrod color with random nutmeg speckling. The only way I have ever seen this frog before has been in white.

AP101 $125.00
Material: Red Clay Pottery
Condition: Very Good
Color: Yellow

Size:
•Depth: Base, 4 1/2"
•Width: Base, 4 7/8"
